Ottawa, Ontario
Pickleball is easy to pick up and takes a while to actually get good at. Nick Carter coaches players across that whole range in Ottawa, from your first week on the court to tournament prep.
Nick is a competitive pickleball player and NCCP-certified coach based in Ottawa. He's played tournaments across Ontario and Quebec, and that competitive experience shapes how he coaches.
Less drilling in isolation. More of what actually holds up once you're in a real match.
He breaks skills down into fundamentals you can repeat under pressure: footwork, dinking, third-shot drops, shot selection. Lessons are built around what each player is actually trying to get better at. Some just want to stop losing to their neighbours in rec league; others are training for a tournament.
Nick coaches out of Altea on Carling Ave. Need somewhere else? He can meet you at other courts across Ottawa too, whatever's easiest for you.
Already a member somewhere, or have a preferred court? Mention it in the contact form below and lessons will happen there.
Nick is certified through Pickleball Canada's National Coach Education Program, developed with Tennis Canada's Tennis Professionals Association (TPA) under the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), Canada's standard for coach education across sport.
Covers introducing new players to the sport: safe, well-run group sessions on the fundamentals, aimed at getting beginners hooked from their first lesson.
Builds on that with players who already know the game: sharper tactics, technique work, and a track toward competitive and tournament play.
